Centers
At the first stage, at least 25 RETURNING mental health centers are planned to be opened across Ukraine. This will make it possible to receive psychological support closer to home — in a familiar and safe environment. RETURNING centers will operate on the premises of state medical institutions and provide free outpatient services. A multidisciplinary approach is implemented in each center: teams consist of case managers, psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists, nurses, and social workers. Such a team will provide comprehensive, professional support at all stages of treatment and recovery.

What is a mental health center of the nationwide RETURNING network?
A modern and convenient RETURNING mental health center for service members, veterans, and their families is a separate unit established within a medical institution. It provides outpatient care to those who need psychological, psychosocial, or psychiatric support.
Who can receive services?
Free services at RETURNING centers are available to service members, veterans, and their family members. Services at the center are provided on an outpatient basis or by a mobile multidisciplinary team at the person’s location, if necessary.
Who provides assistance at the centers?
All mental health centers of the RETURNING network have multidisciplinary teams of specialists, including psychiatrists, psychologists / clinical psychologists, psychotherapists, and nurses. A case manager and/or social worker may also join the team, and a veteran support specialist may be involved if needed.
How much do the services cost?
Mental health centers provide services free of charge. The costs of care are covered by the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU).
How can I contact a center?
There are several ways to contact the centers: by contacting the center independently; by referral from a family doctor selected in accordance with the declaration of choice of doctor; or by referral from a secondary-care specialist (treating specialist).
Can I participate in educational events organized by the RETURNING project?
Yes, participation in open educational events organized by the RETURNING project is possible. We regularly hold trainings, webinars, workshops, and educational sessions in other formats for mental health professionals.
